Heart brothers Malidoma Patrice Somé and Reginald A. Ray joined forces in April 2008 for a workshop on “African and Tibetan Approaches to Working with the Elements,” held at Naropa University in Boulder, Colorado.
With verve and individuality, Malidoma and Reggie discussed modern people’s relationship to the natural elements with over 100 participants. Engaging the crowd in profound meditations and the creation of sacred spaces through song, dance, and ritual, these different yet complementary teachers created an unprecedented interreligious conversation between Western Buddhism and West African wisdom traditions.
Highlights include:
- Relating to the Sprit Realm and Working with the Elements in Vajrayana Buddhism and the Dagara Tradition
- Teachings on entering Into Ritual: Making Space Sacred
- Commentaries on Creating Rituals for Each Element and Grief Rituals
Please note that actual rituals were not recorded.
